Pruning Lessons
Many clients have attended a pruning class (or two!), but have trouble applying what they have heard in class to their own plants. The art and science of arboriculture is more than just cutting, and it takes practice. Customized home pruning instruction can address:
• Flowering trees, shrubs, and vines — Practice pruning on your garden plants
• Young tree training — Establish strong architecture early
• Home orchards — Increase your crop by tailoring cuts for fruit-bearing trees
• Spring-blooming trees and shrubs — Maximize flowering with well-timed pruning
Beginner Home Pruning Class includes:
• Two hours of pruning instruction and guidance for 1–2 people
• Complimentary leather work gloves and safety glasses
• Wide array of hand tools to try during your lesson
Subsequent Lessons (Co-Pruning):
• Two-hour sessions of continued coaching as we work our way through your garden projects
“Thank you again for your help these past couple of months. You’ve really helped to spruce the place up...AND given me some confidence with my gardening skills. What a bonus!! With the stressful nature of a backyard wedding, your uplifting nature was so nice to be around!!
The hydrangeas look awesome! ”

“Jen is an invaluable addition to my gardening life! In fact, I would not have a gardening life without her because she has patiently shown me even the most elementary things about planting and plants, opening up a great new world for me in my garden. She contributes great ideas about choices and is there to help follow through, be it for planting a large shrub, tying up a tricky vine, or drought and rabbit interventions. I can count on her to diagnose the issue and think of a workable solution, sometimes requiring a lot of imagination!”
